This Ludwig P4 Practice Pad was designed by world-renowned drummer Pat Petrillo and features three playing levels and four playing surfaces that provide a variety of feels, sounds, and responses. This unique and versatile design will improve a drummer's overall hand technique, accuracy, and coordination by providing multiple playing surfaces on the same side of the drum pad.The Ludwig P4 practice drum pad fits neatly on top of your snare drum, table top, or into any snare-stand basket. It also has an 8mm thread, so it can be attached to a cymbal stand. Each pad has a unique sound and feel, corresponding to the playing characteristics of different drums and cymbals. Pat Petrillo has been successfully using the P4 for practice and teaching at Drummers Collective in New York, and now everyone has the opportunity to experience the feel and dexterity development that the Ludwig P4 drum pad can offer. The large black pad that comprises the bottom level has the feel of a snare-style practice pad and the blue surface on the left side of the second level feels more like a hi-hat. The right side of the second level is softlike a floor tomand the upper tier resembles the feel of a ride."I wanted to replicate the feel of moving around the drum set when I practice on a pad," says drummer Pat Petrillo. "The P4 allows me to really work on independence techniques." Remo practice pad is the Loudest of them all, not too good while practicing in a school or apartment.. However, the Ludwig P4 is a multi surface/level and different pitch because of the thickness of each individual pad it feels & sounds GREAT ! Also because of the multi level it is just so much more FUN to Practice which means more fun = more practice time!!! I Love it and rate it 5 Stars! I am so into the feel of the pad and being able to use the different surfaces that the P4 provides. us as drummers are constantly dealing with the rebound or lack of rebound on the different surfaces we play on. Perfect example of that is the difference of the feel of the snare drum versus the floor tom.. this pad has that plus the feel of the ride cymbal with the red section.. I cant think of a better investment in your hands ! I have had and still have many brands and types of practice pads and nothing compares to this product. Thanks to Pat petrillo for the invention and for ludwig mass producing it. |
